What an absolutely amazing weekend I had at Equinox Festival 2026.

Equinox has been one of the highlights of my year for many years, so being invited back to play with the wonderful Sunrise crew was incredibly special.

This year was particularly significant for me, though, as I arrived at the festival on my own and due to ill health I made the decision to experience the entire weekend completely clean and sober.

And I bloody did it!

My set on the Sunrise Stage was an absolute joy. I played a journey through Psytech and into chilled Psytrance, and once again I was reminded exactly why I love getting behind the decks. There is something very special about looking out from the booth, seeing people dancing and knowing that for those couple of hours we’re all sharing the same experience through the music.

A massive thank you has to go to the whole Sunrise crew. Not only for having me back and supporting me as a DJ, but for looking after me throughout the weekend and supporting my decision to remain sober.

I’d be lying if I said it was always easy. Festivals have traditionally been places where getting wasted was part of the experience for me, and there were moments over the weekend when I struggled. But the people around me were fantastic. Nobody made me feel like I had to be anything other than myself, and I discovered something rather important:

I didn’t give up on the festival experience by getting sober. I still danced, laughed, made new friends, played music and had an absolutely brilliant time.

In fact, I came away having done something I’m incredibly proud of — I did the whole bloody festival sober!

There was also plenty of time for me to get out from behind the decks and enjoy some fantastic music myself.

My highlights, in the Sunrise Stage, where on Friday the brilliant sets from DJ Neutron and Lorraine, while Saturday brought two more standout performances for me from Ed Tangent and Soul Scientist. Exactly the sort of music and energy that reminds me why Equinox is such a special weekend.

On the other stages there was the amazing band in the Big Tent who played TV Theme songs. Sorry, I cant remember their name, but they were ace. And Ozrics were absolutely amazing on the main stage.

Highlight of the weekend for me was Mr Whompy and I spent quite a bit of time there as some banging tunes were coming from the Whompy mobile!

But perhaps my biggest highlight wasn’t any individual set, as always, it was the people. I’ve had some beautiful conversations with old and new friends this weekend.

I also had my tarot cards read and with everything that’s been going on in my life, they’ve become one of those little opportunities to stop, reflect and see things from a different perspective. A massive thank you to Janine for taking the time to give me such an insightful reading over the weekend. There were definitely a few moments that made me sit there thinking, “Well… bloody hell!” and have a little cry. It was another lovely, personal moment in an already very special weekend.

So, “Thank you” for all the random conversations, hugs, laughter and moments that happen when the Equinox family, come together in a field because they love music.

After the festival finished, I decided not to rush home and stayed for another night in my motorhome. I’d already watched parts of the site being assembled on Thursday and Friday and it was delightful to sit in the Lincolnshire Sunshine on Monday and watch the site slowly return to nature after everyone has gone.

It gave me some time to sit quietly and appreciate what the weekend had meant to me.

Equinox 2026 gave me some wonderful new memories.

I arrived on my own. I played my set. I danced. I laughed. I struggled occasionally to stay sober, and I had a bloody fantastic festival.

Thank you Equinox. Thank you Sunrise. And thank you to every beautiful human who was part of my weekend.

See you next year!
